Historic Newton Addition and Renovation
This Victorian-style home, originally built in the 1890s needed to be modernized without sacrificing the original charm of the historic home.
The exterior of the home received a complete facelift including the front porch. A stone retaining wall that wraps completely around the home was added, and in the back, a custom fireplace is the focal point of the new deck.
On the interiors, an addition off the back created a spacious modern kitchen. On the second floor, reconfiguring the existing footprint resulted in a primary bedroom and bath with custom built-ins. We preserved several significant features of the historic home including stained glass windows, the intricate millwork, and an original 1890 breadbox radiator in the dining room. The front door and the gorgeous stairway were also restored, completing a modern twist to this historic home.
